"Champions Online" is a superhero MMORPG created by the team that made the first superhero MMORPG, "City of Heroes."
 

Like "City of Heroes," "Champions" features a robust character creator, allowing players to customize nearly every aspect of their hero, including several objects and pieces not available in the "City of X" franchise. The MMORPG will be based upon the pen-and-paper Champions license.
 

Unlike "City of Heroes," "Champions Online" won't be a class-based game, instead allowing players to pick and choose their powers from all superpower pools. However, taking powers from a pool you've already invested in will allow you to get the more advanced powers sooner; but it's possible to ignore all powers in one pool (such as Flame) only to take the most powerful.
 

In addition, players will be able to create their own custom Arch Nemesis who will appear throughout the hero's career. Unlike other MMORPGs, "Champions" is being made for action-oriented gamers and console gamers, and thus features a limited number of skillbars available, and is fully playable using a gamepad or a keyboard.
 

The game will feature a monthly subscription cost, and its visuals will be presented with comic book-like textures and coloring.
